Chrome Patches for TestExecute 14 - Installation Notes

The patch is a .zip archive that contains several files. These files provide support for Google Chrome versions 78.
The support for this version was not included in TestExecute version 14.20.2175 and it is provided as a patch now.

Archive Structure

The archive contains the following files:

Installing the Patch

To install the patch, follow these steps:

  1. Unpack the files and folders from the archive to a temporary folder.

  2. Close TestExecute if it is running, and close Chrome if it is running.

  3. Create a backup copy of the files mentioned in the Archive Structure section.

To back up the files, copy the original files from the <TestExecute 14> folders to some other folder or folders.

  4. Replace the files in the <TestExecute 14> folder with the files from the temporary folder.

  5. Replace the tcCrHost.exe in the following folder —

    On 32-bit operating systems:

    <Program Files>\Common Files\SmartBear\tcCrExtension\gmhjclgpamdccpomoomknemhmmialaae\

    On 64-bit operating systems:

    <Program Files (x86)>\Common Files\SmartBear\tcCrExtension\gmhjclgpamdccpomoomknemhmmialaae\

Now, you can run TestExecute and test web pages shown in Google Chrome versions 78.

If You Use Earlier Patches …

The present patch is cumulative. It contains features that were available in earlier TestExecute patches for Chrome.

You can install the patch over earlier patches (you can simply overwrite the files). The functionality provided by the earlier patch installed on your computer will still be available.

Restoring Chrome Support Modules

To restore the Chrome modules that are provided by the original TestExecute installation, re-install TestExecute or replace the current files that are located in the <TestExecute> folder with their backup copies.
